I have lived in Bay City almost my whole life. Through the years I discovered places around the city that are gorgeous and photogenic. I’m a fan of a variety of locations from busy downtown with well-known photo spots to the more “hidden gem” areas that really aren’t hidden, but most people may not visit them or know about them. You have plenty of options for photogenic areas around the city. These are three of my favorite, and highly recommended, locations to shoot your engagement photos.
The Bay City State Park Beach
The beach is one of the best places to capture a stunning golden hour and a beautiful sunset. Bay City is blessed with a colorful, clean, and perfectly placed beach within its state park. There are also several photogenic wooded areas of the state park. It’s a double whammy!

Downtown Bay City
Bay City isn’t only known for its bars and restaurants. It’s also known for its incredible architecture and waterfront locations. Wenona Park is right at end of Center Avenue is a beautifully lit and groomed area for photos.

Kantzler Memorial Arboretum
This is my favorite spot to shoot! In the summer this garden-like area is exploding with colors from its flowerbeds and trees. In the winter it’s covered in beautiful, usually untouched, snow. All year round there aren’t many people here, so it’s perfect for intimate engagement photos!
